Blog 1- Who am I?

Hello, my name is Lucy Davy, and I am very passionate about the making of films and television. I find the pre-production side of film very intriguing and largely appreciate the production and pro-production for the journey.

My relationship with films started from a very young age, creating stop motion films with Lego figurines. However, in the most recent years this has become a large part of my career aspirations.

At A-Levels I studied media studies in which you delve into the industries and conglomerates. But on a whole other level, I also studied Production Arts in which I learnt the special effects makeup secrets from covering up tattoos to applying large prosthetics. Through my current studied at SAE Institute I have had the opportunity to learn more in depth about each individual role and what they involve. I would like to achieve the greatest that I can within my studies, putting my heart and soul into my work. In addition to this, I will get the chance to experience each of the roles involved within the film industry, helping to guide and narrow down which area I will eventually go into.

As a large career goal, I am aiming towards becoming a casting director. This is because I have recently had the chance to organise and arrange all of this, holding auditions at SAE. I feel very connected to the role in which involve organisation as this is one of my key strength. However, I am also keeping an open mind into the different roles such as script writer/ editor and 1st assistant director.
